WAYNE, PA (PRWEB) AUGUST 01, 2016

BetterWorldians Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, was recently founded by the Hansell family, creators of the for-profit social game on Facebook called A Better World. BetterWorldians Foundation has a mission to make the world a better place by encouraging the best in everyone. BetterWorldians Foundation focuses on promoting positive thinking, positive values, and positive actions.

“At a time with so much negativity and conflict, the world needs to shine a light on all the positive things that are being done in the world. BetterWorldians Foundation focuses on planting flowers rather than pulling weeds. We believe that bringing attention to all the kindness, positivity, and charity being done in the world can encourage a common culture of empathy, respect, and decency. We will highlight many areas of goodness, including altruism, wellbeing, philanthropy, and faith and spirituality, just to name a few,” said BetterWorldians Foundation CEO, Gregory Hansell.

BetterWorldians Foundation promotes its message through BetterWorldians Radio, a podcast that features the people and ideas that are making the world a better place. BetterWorldians Radio recently released a special episode called “Best of BetterWorldians Stories,” which features several of the non-profit founders included in BetterWorldians Radio’s more than one hundred episodes.

“On BetterWorldians Radio, we feature guests who are impacting millions of lives, as well as less well known people who are making a big difference in their own corner of the world. We’ve chatted with non-profits such as World Vision, Operation Warm, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, as well as experts, authors, and entrepreneurs like Dr. Stephen Post, Dr. Robert Emmons, and Tom Ziglar. We want to be the voice of positivity to uplift our listeners and remind them of all the good being done in the world,” said Chief Operating Officer MarySue Hansell.

BetterWorldians Foundation is asking for donations to support the BetterWorldians Radio podcast, as well as future projects such as articles, videos, and blogs.

Players can even send get well notes to real world children recovering from surgeries. Fun rewards for doing good include dressing up, taking care of pets, and decorating virtual homes. Players also work together to meet do-good goals that, when met, release money to charities.

To date, over 4 million people have done 40 million good deeds in A Better World with a goal to reach one billion good deeds worldwide. Through their Cause Gaming® initiative, all good done in the game goes toward meeting monthly goals that, when met, raise awareness and release funds to non-profit causes. Over 20 causes, nationally and internationally, helping both children and adults, have been supported by A Better World, including: Operation Warm, CURE International, World Vision, Vetri Foundation, and Dr. Phil Foundation, among many others.

The family team behind A Better World - the do-good virtual world game on Facebook - is sending kids in need to summer camp as result of a successful February challenge partnership with the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.

Players in A Better World were challenged to complete 200,000 good deeds in the game during the month of February. Because they did so, kids in Chester County will have the opportunity to have the “Y summer experience,” providing hope and inspiration to those that need it most.

“The Y has a much bigger mission than people might realize. It’s a non-profit that strengthens the foundations of our community. It is our pleasure to support that important mission by contributing to the summer camp program to provide kids in need opportunities that they otherwise wouldn’t have,” said A Better World CEO, Ray Hansell.

The family team behind A Better World - the do-good virtual world game on Facebook - presented Operation Warm with a donation to provide 250 brand new coats for kids in need. The donation is the result of a successful holiday challenge for players in A Better World to perform 1,000,000 good deeds in game. Operation Warm is a nonprofit based in Chadds Ford, PA that provides winter coats for kids in need, nationwide.

Ray, MarySue, and Gregory Hansell presented Operation Warm Marketing Director, Brock Clauser with the donation on Tuesday, January 26th.

“Operation Warm is so grateful to have a partner like A Better World that believes in our mission to provide brand new winter coats to children in need. New coats not only help keep them warm, but increase their self-esteem and reassure them that they are of value. It’s rare to find an organization like A Better World that at its core is so focused on doing good and making the world a better place. The partnership is a natural fit,” said Clauser.

A Better World was joined in its pledge by law firms Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz and Reger Rizzo & Darnall, as well as Philadelphia Main Line fashion boutique Posh Collections.

“We crossed the million good deed threshold just as the 2016 blizzard hit the east coast. This historic storm really drove home how high the stakes are for these kids in need. It’s our honor to help by harnessing the goodwill of our players to support this timely cause,” said A Better World CEO, Ray Hansell.

Players in A Better World - the do-good virtual world game on Facebook - have completed 750,000 good deeds so far on their quest to perform one million good deeds for this year’s holiday campaign. When they do so, A Better World will release funds to provide new coats for children in need, through a partnership with Operation Warm. Players now have until the end of January to reach the goal.

The family team behind A Better World will donate funds to national non-profit Operation Warm to provide up to a thousand brand new coats for kids in need.

"We're really happy to be partnering with A Better World this holiday season to provide even more coats for kids in need," said Operation Warm Executive Director Rich Lalley. “Thanks to A Better World, more kids will be happy and warm, and able to get to school with pride on cold winter days.”

A Better World is asking other organizations to join their pledge this holiday season. So far, law firms Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz and Reger Rizzo & Darnall, as well as Philadelphia Main Line fashion boutique Posh Collections, have all joined A Better World in pledging to donate funds to Operation Warm, headquartered in Kennett Square, PA.

“We’re hoping to put as many as a thousand coats on kids in need this winter season. In order to do that, we need more companies and individuals to join us. We also want to encourage people to do more good deeds in A Better World. We’re off to a great start, but we need our BetterWorldians to help to reach our goal by going to Facebook.com/ABetterWorld and playing the game,” said A Better World CEO Ray Hansell.
